Veritas-the open-source protocols to measure methane emissions to calculate measurement-informed methane emissions intensity- is starting to be implemented across the natural gas supply chain. Version 1 of the protocols was released in February 2023 and throughout the year were tested, further refined with continued feedback, and updated into Version 2. Version 2 was released in December 2023 with immediate positive response from the stakeholders. Globally, 2024 is a key year for the natural gas industry and governments regarding their commitments to reduce methane emissions. As companies act on implementing methane emission reduction strategies there remains the directive for a standard, transparent, and credible approach to measuring methane emissions. Also needed is continued collaboration across the various stakeholders to understand how this impacts regulatory reporting, international trade, and opportunities for improvement.

The workshop agenda includes panel discussions on the regulatory landscape in the US, development of the international MMRV, scaling Veritas to basin-level measurements, implementing Veritas (findings and opportunities for improvement), development of source-based pathway (OGMP 2.0 compliant), and assurance/verification.

Invited guests should register by March 18th to reserve a seat.
