Bio:

Yuanlei Chen is a PhD student in Adam Brandt’s lab at Stanford studying greenhouse gas emissions from oil and gas operations. Her current research focuses on testing and synthesizing broader insights from airborne methane detection and quantification technologies, for both onshore and offshore applications, using a combination of engineering knowledge, data collection in the field, applied statistics, computer vision, and remote sensing. Zichong Chen is currently a Research Associate in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at Harvard University, where he is advised by Dr. Daniel Jacob. His current research focuses on exploring regional sources of methane over China, the Middle East, and Africa using satellite observations. Prior to Harvard, he was a postdoc at Johns Hopkins University, working on global CO2 sources and sinks using NASA’s OCO-2 satellite. Zichong received his Ph.D. from Land and Atmospheric Sciences program (LAAS) in University of Minnesota, where he was co-advised by Drs. Tim Griffis and Dylan Millet. During his Ph.D. research, Zichong mainly focused on the constraint of greenhouse gases including N2O and methane across the Midwest region in the U.S. using tall tower observations and a suite of atmospheric transport models and terrestrial biosphere models. Qining Chen is a research scientist at the University of Texas at Austin. She received her PhD in chemical engineering from UT Austin in 2021. Her research includes greenhouse gas emission modeling and life cycle assessments of oil and gas supply chains, and continuous monitoring systems designs and deployment for measuring methane emissions.
