Event Details:
Erin Bonetti from the Gas Technology Institute (GTI) speaks to the Methane Emissions Technology Alliance about GTI's work on methane detection and mitigation across the natural gas value chain, followed by a deeper look into two recently completed projects focused on beyond the meter methane emissions. The first is a 2018/19 California Energy Commission funded field study to understand methane emissions from commercial food service buildings. The next topic covers methods and results from laboratory testing of tankless water heaters to understand the magnitude and causes of methane emissions at the appliance level.
Bio
Erin Bonetti joined GTI’s Energy Utilization group in 2017, previously working in refinery hydroprocessing process design at Chevron Lummus Global. Her role at GTI has included demonstration of emerging technologies in the residential, commercial and industrial sectors, but has evolved to largely focus on the energy and environmental impacts of end-use equipment choices with a particular focus on field and laboratory measurements of methane emissions in the distribution and residential/commercial end-use sectors. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from University of California, Davis.
