Event Details:

Tuesday, April 13, 2021 - Wednesday, April 14, 2021

Decarbonizing Heavy Duty Transport WorkshopA workshop hosted by the Stanford Hydrogen Focus GroupApril 13&14, 2021 8:00-12:00pm PDT (15:00-19:00 GMT)

Transportation accounts for approximately 28% of emissions in the United States and decarbonizing heavy-duty transportation are critical for achieving net-zero carbon climate targets. In this 2-day virtual event, we will convene thought leaders to discuss and explore the trade-offs and options for low carbon and zero-emission heavy-duty transportation pathways.

The workshop will be a unique opportunity for people who are interested in the climate impact of heavy-duty transportation to expand their network and community. Participants include heavy-duty transport regulators and policymakers, industry leaders in the battery-electric and hydrogen-electric space, and heavy-duty transport leaders from trucks, buses, rail, marine, and aviation from around the world.

Agenda

Day 1: Trade-offs of Battery Electric and H2 Electric for HD trucks and buses. Session 1: Trucks & Buses. Session 2: Infrastructure.

Day 2: Exploring Decarbonized Options. Session 1: Trains. Session 2: Maritime & Air Transport

The Stanford Hydrogen Focus Group consists of affiliated faculty, industry members, government officials, and thought leaders interested in hydrogen generation, distribution and storage, and utilization. Stanford Energy Corporate Affiliates (SECA), the Natural Gas Initiative (NGI), and the SUNCAT Center have collectively created and established this global consortium.

This Stanford Energy workshop is hosted by the Stanford Hydrogen Focus Group, in partnership with the Precourt Institute for Energy.

This event is by invitation only.
